Watch video |
| Q: |
How does Handheld Contact work? |
| A: |
Once installed, Handheld Contact is designed to run automatically so your ACT! information on your phone is always up-to-date. It installs on your computer, laptop or server running ACT! and on your phone. The Handheld Contact service ties everything together all wirelessly over the cellular network or your phone's WiFi connection. |
| Q: |
What ACT! info can I get on my phone? |
| A: |
Handheld Contact Professional edition syncs contacts, contact details, tasks, activities, calendar items, notes, history items and more. All 26 pre-defined fields of information from ACT! can be accessed and another 50 user defined fields can be send to your phone. All of the rules you've applied in ACT!, like private, public contacts and activities, drop-down menus, field level permissions and more, are also followed on your phone.
Handheld Contact Basic edition syncs Contacts and Activities to the phone's contact list and calendar. |
| Q: |
How does Handheld Contact differ from other products? |
| A: |
Handheld Contact is reliable and secure. We use the same unique IDs that ACT! does so your information is always accurate. Handheld Contact is a single solution and doesn't relay on any other software components to work. There is no software to buy. Upgrades, changes in your ACT! version or phone are all provided free. Email, Live chat and toll free phone support is also free (Professional and Basic editions). The Handheld Contact subscription is the most cost effective solution because there are never any hidden additional costs. |
| Q: |
How many contacts can I sync? |
| A: |
There is a technical limit of 7,000 contacts for Professional Edition and 15,000 contacts for Basic Edition. These limitations exist due to hardware limitations of phones.
Basic Edition's limit is significant higher than Professional Edition's since it only needs to sync and store data into a phone's native contact and calendar applications. ACT!-like functionality is minimal and requires little hardware resources for processing.
Professional Edition delivers an ACT!-like experience that is only possible with our independent phone applications. This requires a certain amount of hardware resources be available for processing.
|
| Q: |
Can I use Handheld Contact in addition to another contact management application on my phone like Outlook? |
| A: |
Yes. Since Handheld Contact Professional edition is an application on the phone, you can continue to sync Outlook (or another PIM application) to the standard device address book and calendar. With Handheld Contact Basic, you are not able to sync Outlook or other applications to your contacts or calendar. If this is done, duplication of the data may occur. |
| Q: |
How does Handheld Contact handle ACT! Notes, To-Do Items and Activities? |
| A: |
Handheld Contact puts real ACT! functionality on handheld devices. With Handheld Contact Professional edition you can work with Notes, To-Do Items and Activities just as you would on your ACT! desktop. With Handheld Contact Basic edition you cannot receive Notes, History or To-Do items from ACT!. You will only sync Contacts/Calendar items. |
| Q: |
