Setup Guide

Before you start
  1. Ensure your phone, computer, and ACT! version is compatible with Handheld Contact. Select your phone on our product page to access this information.
     
  2. Have your Handheld Contact account username and password handy; you need it when you're installing our software.
     
You already have a Handheld Contact for ACT! account if you have previously used Handheld Contact, purchased subscriptions, or managed subscriptions.

Install our computer software
  1. Visit our downloads page and click the version of ACT! by Sage you use. A download for the appropriate Handheld Contact computer application installer will be initiated.
     
  2. When you run the Handheld Contact computer application installer a step-by-step wizard will guide you.
     
  3. Send your ACT! data from Handheld Contact on your computer before moving on to installing the Handheld Contact phone software.
     
Install on your phone
  1. On your mobile phone, launch the default internet browser and visit:

    www.handheldcontact.com/ota
     

  2. Supported phones will display instructions for installing our phone software.
     
  3. When you run the Handheld Contact phone application for the first time, an installation wizard will be initiated and guide you.
     
  4. Once installation is complete your phone will be ready to wirelessly sync and receive your ACT! data.
     
Please note that the initial sync may take a while and we recommend performing this step when you won't be busy with your phone, such as at the end of a work day. Subsequent syncs with Handheld Contact for ACT! will be fast as there will be less data to transfer.
