We have just completed the final beta process for HHC 7.3, the next build for IOS users of Handheld Contact, and we’ll be submitting it to Apple this weekend for a scheduled release between late Tuesday or Wednesday (approximation).

Upgrade vs Reinstall
Step One: Complete a Handheld Contact device sync before initiating this delete/resend process to ensure all changes on your device get sent to Act!.

Step Two: For those using the Legacy version of Handheld Contact (namely 7.1.2), you will not be able to upgrade directly to HHC 7.3 because Apple considers this a different product with a different name.

  • You will need to delete the Legacy app on your device
  • Go to the App store to download and install HHC 7.3.
  • Once that is complete open Handheld Contact on your computer – Maintenance – Resend all data to your device  (please have your HHC account login and password ready, and you’ll need them to enter the software on your device).

Step Two: For those using HHC 7.2.x, you can download HHC 7.3 and upgrade overtop of your current version (please note that if you have seen inconsistencies between your task list and calendar, we recommend following the same steps as Legacy users – namely a delete and resend).

Handheld Contact 7.3
This new build has undergone extensive testing both domestically and abroad, and most every identified issue has been addressed. In addition to performance improvements, we’ve added Tag mode, Sharing, and the ability to SMS, Email, and Map contacts that are part of a manual or dynamic search.

We’re also pleased to report that support for Opportunities in the Android version of Handheld Contact has passed alpha and entered the beta stage for internal testing. If you’d like to see a demo of the biggest update in HHC in years, join us for Keystroke’s Act! v20 Virtual Roadshow on October 17th at 2PM EST.
